Description

Simple Preflop Holdem is software for calculating optimal (equilibrium) preflop strategies in Hold’em. The user sets the number of players at the table (2 to 10), stack sizes, bet sizes, and starting ranges, and the tool builds a game tree and works out how, according to game theory, each hand should be played at every point in that tree: open, call, 3-bet, or fold.

Its main strength is multiway spots, meaning hands with three or more players involved. The whole table is solved at once, so the resulting charts account for cold calls, squeezes, and blind defense in multiway pots. For every hand, the tool shows action frequencies, EV (expected value), and equity, and the solutions can be viewed in several modes: strategy, played range, and EV map.

Simple Preflop Holdem works for both cash games and tournaments. For cash games, the solve accounts for real rake: a percentage with a cap, or a structure where rake is taken from the pot as early as preflop. For tournaments, an ICM model is available, along with knockout tournaments, including progressive ones. Antes, straddles, and both no-limit and limit Hold’em are supported.

For deeper analysis, there’s node locking: a player can assign an opponent a custom, non-optimal strategy and have the tool calculate the best response to it. A solve can be paused, the intermediate solution saved, and the calculation resumed later. Finished branches can be sent to Simple Postflop and Simple 3-Way in two clicks for postflop analysis.

The software runs locally on the user’s computer and uses all available CPU threads, so solving speed depends on how powerful the machine is. To save memory, postflop play is simplified in the calculation at a selected accuracy level, and the amount of RAM required is shown before the solve even starts.

Pricing

Simple Preflop Holdem is free to download: without a license, users can install the software, build trees, see how much memory a solve will need, and open existing solutions. Running custom solves requires a license:

  • Standalone — $250 for 1 year, 1 computer, unlimited preflop solves.

Besides card payment, a license can be paid for in cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC) through the developer's support team.

Simple Preflop Holdem makes it possible to build preflop charts tailored to a specific format, stack depth, and rake instead of relying on ready-made templates. A good place to start is the free version: build a tree for your game and check whether your computer has enough resources for the solves you need.
