Description
SmartHand is an online service that stores ready-made stats on cash-game players and serves them up by the opponent’s nickname. No personal hand database is needed: the service collects the data in advance, so stats on an unfamiliar opponent are available before the first hand played against them. That’s the fundamental difference from a tracker, which has to accumulate hands on its own.
The service works with seven sites: PokerStars, 888poker, Chico (Tiger Gaming), WPN, iPoker, GGPoker, and Winamax. It covers Hold’em cash tables from NL10 up; there are no NL2 or NL5 hands in the database. Searches are by nickname: entering a nickname opens a player card with overall figures, results by stake and month, a winnings graph, and a set of stats — over a hundred in total, including VPIP, PFR, 3-bet, c-bet, WWSF, WTSD, and Steal.
The stat layout can be customized: the needed stats can be selected, arranged by table position, and saved as a permanent template. The result is a personal stats panel in the spirit of a familiar HUD, only on the service’s page rather than on top of the poker table. Filters by stake, game type, table type, and date persist between searches, so outdated data only needs to be filtered out once.
A separate graph shows how the opponent’s results have changed over time: total winnings, winnings with and without showdown, and the expected value line (All-in EV). The gap between actual results and EV shows whether an unfamiliar player is winning through skill or through luck in all-ins.
For multitabling, there’s the SmartHand Helper extension for Google Chrome. It picks up a nickname copied to the clipboard and automatically enters it into the search, so checking an opponent takes one click. The extension works together with the helper tools StarsHelper, StarsCaption, 888Caption, MPN Tools, WPN Tools, iPoker Tools, and Table Tamer. In addition to the stats database, the service sells mining — hand history archives by subscription and hand exports on a specific player.
