Description

Monker Solver is software for solving poker situations using game theory. The user defines the game tree (who acts, with which bet sizes, and with what stacks), and the software finds a strategy for each player that the opponents have no incentive to deviate from. The output is a table of action frequencies and expected value for every hand in the range.

What sets it apart from most solvers is its ability to solve pots with more than two players. The tree can be built for any number of players, so it handles not only heads-up spots but also multiway pots: three players on the flop, playing against a limper, spots after a cold call. These spots come up in games all the time, yet most solvers can’t handle them.

Beyond Hold’em, the software supports Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo. Omaha has orders of magnitude more possible deals than Hold’em, so the software has built-in simplification: hands with similar properties are grouped together and played the same way. The user sets how coarse this grouping is — from a rough estimate in a few minutes to a precise solve that takes many hours.

Another strength is preflop. The software solves not a single spot but the entire preflop tree: opens, 3-bets, 4-bets, and blind defense for a given stack depth and rake. Finished ranges are exported to the free MonkerViewer, which is installed separately and is convenient for reviewing hands.

The flip side of this versatility is steep hardware requirements. Small postflop solves run on an ordinary computer, but large preflop trees and multiway Omaha pots hit the limits of available RAM, so serious solves are usually run on a rented server in practice. The software is meant for studying away from the table: poker rooms prohibit using tools like this during play.

Pricing

The software is sold as a lifetime license, with no monthly fee.

  • Free version — available to download; it can solve and open solutions for the turn and river only.

  • MonkerViewer, a viewer for finished ranges — free, no separate license required.

  • Full version — €499, a single one-time payment; the license activates on two computers.

There are no subscriptions or discounted plans: there's a single price, listed on the official website.

The free version makes it possible to learn the interface and tree building on turn and river solves before buying the full license.
