Description

DTO Poker is a platform for learning game-theory-optimal (GTO) play in No-Limit Hold’em. It has two parts: a trainer where hands are played out against a bot, and the Explorer solution browser, where the ready-made strategy for a given spot can simply be looked up. The platform was created by professional player Dominik Nitsche and developer Markus Prinz; the company that owns it, DTOPoker LTD, is registered in Edinburgh.

The key idea behind the platform is simplification. Instead of a full solver output with five bet sizes and mixed frequencies, training is built on a trimmed tree: fewer bet sizes and more clear-cut decisions. The developers state that this strategy loses almost no EV compared with the full solution, yet it can be memorized and applied at the table, where decision time is limited. In the cash section, strategies are built around the highest-EV c-bet size.

The platform is split into two sections: DTO Tournament covers MTTs and sit & gos, including ICM spots, uneven stacks, and heads-up play, while DTO Cash covers 6-max and heads-up cash games with different rake structures. Subscriptions to the two sections are bought separately, so studying both formats requires two subscriptions.

Every decision in the trainer is graded. On the basic tiers, this is a simple right-or-wrong mark; on the top tiers, it’s the exact loss in big blinds and the optimal frequencies for each action. Progress builds up in stats by position and street, each spot has its own leaderboard, and a built-in virtual coach powered by a language model explains in plain words why a move was a mistake.

The platform runs in the browser and in iOS and Android apps; there’s no separate app for Windows or macOS. The free tier has no time limit and unlocks all preflop solutions plus a few postflop spots for unlimited practice.
