Nick Korolev is the founder of Poker Software Guide, a former professional No-Limit Hold’em cash game player, and a poker software specialist with years of hands-on experience in product development, education, and working directly with poker players.

Nick started playing poker professionally in 2016 and joined the Hand2Note team in 2018. He spent three years working in customer support, helping players configure Hand2Note, build and use HUDs, solve technical issues, and work with their poker databases. He later became the author of the official Hand2Note 3 user manual. Between 2020 and 2022, he also provided one-on-one Hand2Note consultations to regular players, and later turned that experience into complete video courses for both Hand2Note 3 and Hand2Note 4.

From 2021 to 2024, Nick worked as Sales Director at Hand2Note. In this role, he worked with poker schools, professional players, software partners, and the Hand2Note development team, while remaining closely involved with both the product and its users.

In 2019, Nick launched Hand2Note Guide, which grew from an alternative Hand2Note manual into a broader educational resource covering Hand2Note, HUDs, poker tools, and software-related training.

Nick is also the co-founder of FreeBetRange, a browser-based platform for studying and practicing preflop strategy. The project was originally created to give players a convenient way to store and manage poker ranges and has since developed into a complete preflop study platform with an Editor, Viewer, Trainer, GTO Library, and tools for analyzing players’ actual preflop strategies. Nick also writes and maintains FreeBetRange’s user documentation together with the product team.

Since 2022, Nick has also led HUD Store, the official marketplace for Hand2Note HUD packages. Combined with his earlier background as a software developer and his degree in applied mathematics, these projects give him experience with poker software from several perspectives: as a professional player, user, educator, product builder, and industry partner.

At Poker Software Guide, Nick oversees the project and personally reviews educational content for technical accuracy and clarity. His main areas of expertise include poker trackers and HUDs, preflop and GTO study software, poker training tools, and the practical use of software for analyzing and improving poker strategy.
